Deputy Sheriff Eligibility List
The Rock County Administrator is now accepting applications until May 24, 2019 to create an eligibility list for future Deputy Sheriff positions in the Rock County Sheriff’s Office; the eligibility list will be valid until June 01, 2020. The position assists the Rock County Sheriff’s Department in enforcing the law and the protection of life and property throughout the county. Work is performed on a rotating shift basis.
Applicants must posses a high school diploma or equivalent and a two-year degree in law enforcement or related field, plus an eight-week skills course. Upon being hired, the officer must either be eligible to be licensed, or be a fully licensed Peace Officer in order to comply with the post standards in Minnesota. In addition, the applicant must have completed the following training: qualified in the use of firearms, First Responder course, possess a current CPR card and a valid Minnesota class “D” driver’s license. The starting salary range is $22.19 – $24.00, with a maximum $31.58; additional compensation includes overtime, shift differential, standby and call back pay. Full time positions are union and eligible for an excellent benefit package.
